Digital Marketing Agency for Hospitals

Growthbees is a digital marketing agency for hospitals, based in Guwahati and Tezpur, Assam. We help multi-speciality and super-speciality hospitals turn online searches into patient enquiries through department-level Google search campaigns, Meta ads, local SEO for every location, factual doctor profile pages, and enquiry tracking from click to call. Our hospital clients include NEMCARE Super Speciality Hospital, which we have worked with since January 2024, and Dr. M. C. Agarwal Hospital And Research Centre. Every campaign is planned around the Indian Medical Council's professional conduct rules, the ASCI advertising code, and Google and Meta health advertising policies.

The problem

Why hospital marketing stalls

  1. Websites describe the hospital, not what patients search for

Most hospital websites were built to describe the hospital, not to answer what a patient is actually searching for. A patient in Nalbari with a knee problem doesn't search for your hospital's name. They search "knee replacement hospital in Guwahati" or "orthopaedic doctor near me", then compare two or three hospitals on their phone before calling one. If your site has one general "Orthopaedics" line on a departments page, you lose that search to a hospital with a proper department page, an up-to-date Google Business Profile and a phone number that someone answers.

  2. Enquiries leak between channels

The second problem is leakage. Enquiries arrive through a switchboard, a WhatsApp number nobody checks after 8pm, a website form that emails an inbox, and direct calls to doctors' assistants. Nobody sees the full picture, so marketing gets judged on guesswork. A campaign can look like it failed when the real issue was a Sunday of unanswered calls.

  3. Hospital advertising has rules generic agencies ignore

Third, hospitals operate under rules that generic agencies ignore. The Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, which the National Medical Commission currently applies, treat soliciting patients as unethical, whether by a doctor or by an institution. Google does not allow ads to be personalised on health conditions, and Meta rejects ads that imply they know a person's health status. Agencies that copy e-commerce playbooks, with remarketing to people who read a cancer page or "Are you suffering from…?" headlines, get ads disapproved and put hospital ad accounts at risk.

  4. Patients travel from across the Northeast

Finally, the Northeast has a particular pattern: patients from across Assam and from Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura travel to Guwahati for specialist care. Campaigns that only target a few kilometres around the hospital miss the families who plan a trip to the city for treatment.

What's included

What our hospital marketing includes

Seven parts, planned around the departments you want to grow.

We build a separate Google Ads campaign for each department you want to grow, such as cardiology, orthopaedics, nephrology or obstetrics and gynaecology. Each campaign is keyed to service-intent searches ("cardiologist in Guwahati", "dialysis centre near me") and to the locations your patients actually come from. Ads state the service, the location and OPD timings. We add negative keywords to filter out job seekers, medical students and unrelated searches, so budget goes to patients and their families. We do not build remarketing lists from condition pages or target people by health condition, because Google's personalised advertising policy prohibits it.

Meta works for things people don't search for yet: health check-up packages, a new department, free screening camps and awareness days. Ad copy is written in neutral language ("Heart check-up packages at NEMCARE, Guwahati"), never as a statement about the viewer's health. Lead forms carry a plain consent notice explaining how the hospital will use the phone number.

Many families in Assam prefer to message rather than call. We set up click-to-WhatsApp ads and route those chats to your front desk or WhatsApp Business account, with quick-reply templates your team approves. We track how many chats get a reply, and how fast, because an ad that produces unanswered messages wastes money.

Each hospital location gets one verified Google Business Profile with the right categories, departments listed as services, accurate hours for emergency and OPD, current photos, and answers to common questions. We ask patients for reviews ethically: no incentives, no scripts, and no requests that pressure someone during treatment.

Growthbees' website team builds a page for each priority department: what it treats, procedures offered, consultants, OPD days and how to book. Doctor profile pages are factual: qualifications, registration number, specialities, languages spoken and consultation days. They contain no superlatives and no outcome claims, and each doctor approves their own page. We add Hospital and Physician structured data so search engines can read locations, departments and doctors correctly.

Short videos and posts explain procedures, preparation and recovery in plain language. Clinical content is written with, and approved by, your doctors. When a doctor or health professional presents content, their qualification is shown at the start, as ASCI's 2023 guidelines for health influencers require.

We set up call tracking numbers per channel, form and WhatsApp tracking, and campaign tagging, so you can see enquiries by department and by channel. Your report shows enquiries, cost per enquiry and missed-call counts. Where your front desk shares appointment data, we match enquiries to booked consultations.

How we work

How we work: the SOCIAL process

The same six-step process Growthbees uses across clients, adapted for hospitals.

  1. 01 Strategy

We meet management and department heads, review current enquiry sources, and agree which departments to promote first based on consultant availability and bed or OPD capacity.

  2. 02 Optimise

Before any ad spend, we fix the foundations: Google Business Profiles, website tracking, call routing, WhatsApp handling and the department pages that ads will send patients to.

  3. 03 Create

We produce ads, landing pages, doctor profiles, posts and videos. Your medical team approves every clinical statement before publication.

  4. 04 Interact

We reply to comments and messages within agreed hours and pass clinical questions straight to the hospital. We never give medical advice on your behalf.

  5. 05 Analyse

We review enquiries, cost per enquiry and call answer rates by department, and shift budget towards what produces real appointments.

  6. 06 Listen

Questions patients ask on calls, in chats and in reviews shape the next round of content and the FAQs on department pages.

Before we start

Before we start: what we'll ask your hospital for

A hospital campaign moves faster when a few things are ready on day one. During the strategy step we ask for the seven things below. Tick the ones your hospital already has.

0 of 7 ready

If some of these aren't ready, that's normal. The Optimise step exists to put them in place before any money is spent on advertising.

Your hospital is ready for the strategy step.

How our hospital marketing retainer works

Growthbees works with hospitals on a monthly retainer. We don't publish a rate card, because hospital engagements differ widely in scope. After a consultation, you receive a written quote that lists exactly what the retainer covers, so you can compare it line by line with other proposals.

The main things that shape the quote

  1. 01The number of hospital locations and Google Business Profiles
  2. 02The number of departments with active campaigns
  3. 03The channels involved: Google search, Meta, WhatsApp, SEO and website work
  4. 04The volume of content: posts, videos, department pages and doctor profiles
  5. 05The reporting you need, including whether we connect to appointment data

Where we work

Where your patients travel from

Our Guwahati office is on KK Bhatta Road in Chenikuthi, a short drive from the hospital clusters along GMCH Road in Bhangagarh and the Dispur and Six Mile stretch. Our Tezpur office is at Gharpara Chuburi. Having both means we can visit a hospital for a content shoot or a planning meeting without it becoming a special trip.

For a Guwahati hospital, campaigns usually cover the city and the districts patients travel from, such as Kamrup, Nalbari, Barpeta, Darrang and Morigaon, plus the neighbouring states where specialist care is limited. For a Tezpur hospital, the catchment is Sonitpur, Biswanath, Udalguri and Darrang, and the route into Arunachal Pradesh through Bhalukpong. We also work with hospitals elsewhere in India, planning campaigns remotely and meeting on video.

We write ads and patient information in English, Hindi and Assamese, so families can read about treatment in the language they're most comfortable with.

8 questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Can a hospital in India legally run Google and Facebook ads?

Hospitals in India do run search and social media ads, but within limits. The Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, which the National Medical Commission applies, treat soliciting patients as unethical, so ads should give factual information about departments, services, locations and timings rather than promotional claims about doctors. The ASCI code requires claims to be substantiated, and Google and Meta restrict ads that target or refer to health conditions. Growthbees plans campaigns around these rules and has your medical team approve clinical wording before anything goes live.

How do you measure patient enquiries from digital marketing?

We use separate call tracking numbers for each channel, track website forms and WhatsApp chats, and tag every campaign link. That lets your report show enquiries by department and by channel, the cost of each enquiry, and how many calls went unanswered. If your front desk or hospital software can share appointment data, we match enquiries to booked consultations so you see which campaigns bring patients, not just clicks.

Do you create profile pages for our doctors?

Yes. Each doctor profile lists qualifications, registration number, specialities, languages spoken and consultation days, with a clear way to book. The pages are factual: no superlatives, no claims about results, and no testimonials about treatment outcomes. Every doctor reviews and approves their own page before it is published.

Can we use patient testimonials in our marketing?

Testimonials about clinical outcomes carry regulatory and ethical risk for hospitals, so we don't build campaigns around them. Where a hospital wants to share patient experiences, we limit them to the service experience, such as booking, waiting time or staff support, collect written consent first, and avoid before-and-after images. We recommend your legal adviser approves any testimonial before it is used.

Which departments should we promote first?

Start with departments that have consultant availability, OPD slots and staff to handle extra calls, and where patients actively search for the service. Promoting a department that can't take more patients wastes budget and frustrates families. We agree priorities with management during the strategy step and review them as results come in.

Do you work with hospitals outside Guwahati?

Yes. We have offices in Guwahati and Tezpur, work with hospitals across Assam and the other Northeast states, and take on hospitals elsewhere in India. For hospitals outside Assam, we plan and report remotely and meet on video, with visits arranged for content shoots when needed.

How is your hospital marketing priced?

Growthbees works on a monthly retainer. After a consultation we send a written quote based on the number of locations, departments, channels and content involved, and the level of reporting you need. We don't publish a standard rate card because hospital requirements vary so much.

How soon will we see more patient enquiries?

Search campaigns can start producing enquiries once ads are approved and tracking is working, while local SEO and department pages build visibility over several months. We agree review points at the start so you can judge progress on real enquiry numbers rather than impressions or likes.
