Website Development Agency in Assam

Growthbees is a website development agency in Assam, with offices in Guwahati and Tezpur. We design and build business websites on WordPress, online stores on Shopify, and custom-coded websites and web applications, and we offer hosting, ongoing maintenance and e-commerce set-up. Every site we build is mobile-first, tested against Google's Core Web Vitals, and launched with on-page SEO foundations, analytics and enquiry tracking in place.

Every site launches with: Mobile-first design, Core Web Vitals tested, SEO foundations, Enquiry tracking.

We write website content in English, Hindi and Assamese. Your domain, hosting and admin access are registered to your business, so the website is fully yours.

Why so many business websites don't bring in customers

Plenty of businesses in Assam have a website. Far fewer have one that produces enquiries. When we look at existing sites, the same problems come up again and again, and these three are the most common.

  1. It's slow on a phone

Most visitors arrive on mobile, and outside the main towns connections are often patchy. A site loaded with heavy images, sliders and plugins can take long enough that people give up before it appears.

  2. Nobody can update it

The original developer has moved on, and the business doesn't have the login, the hosting details or even control of its own domain name. Prices, timings and phone numbers stay wrong for months.

  3. Google doesn't understand it

Pages have no proper titles or descriptions, no clear main heading, and leftover demo images and text from the theme it was built on. The site exists, but it doesn't appear when customers search.

Three more come up almost as often. It doesn't ask for anything: no clear phone number, no WhatsApp button, no simple enquiry form. It can't be measured: without analytics and enquiry tracking, there's no way to know which pages do the work. The legal basics are missing: forms collect names and phone numbers with no privacy notice, and online stores leave out information Indian consumer rules require. A good website solves all of these from the start, and keeps solving them after launch.

Choosing the right platform

We build on three kinds of platform, and recommend the one that suits your business rather than the one we prefer. If you're not sure, we'll explain the trade-offs for your situation in plain language before you commit.

  • WordPress

Suits service businesses, schools, clinics, hospitals, hotels, professional firms and any site that publishes lots of pages or articles. Flexible and widely supported; needs regular updates and security care, which our maintenance covers.

  • Shopify

Suits online stores that want reliable hosting, checkout, payments and inventory management handled by the platform. Monthly platform fees are paid to Shopify; strong app ecosystem; less flexible for complex non-shop content.

  • Custom code

Suits booking systems, customer portals, dashboards, integrations with other software, or sites with specific performance or security needs. Built exactly to requirements; takes longer and needs a developer for changes.

Redesigning a website without losing Google rankings

A new website can wipe out years of search visibility if it's launched carelessly. When we redesign an existing site, we protect what already works, in four stages. The full checklist is in our guide to redesigning a website without losing rankings.

  1. 01 · Record

    • Pages that get search traffic
    • The searches they rank for
    • The links pointing to them

    Exported before anything changes

  2. 02 · Map

    • Every old URLMatched to its closest new page
    • 301 redirectsSo visitors and search engines land in the right place

    The redirect map

  3. 03 · Rebuild

    • Keep the content that ranksUseful text improved, not thrown away
    • Internal links updated
    • New XML sitemap

    Checked before launch

  4. 04 · Launch and watch

Websites for businesses across Assam

  • Built for patchy connections

Most visitors arrive on mobile, and outside the main towns connections are often patchy. Pages are built light and tested on mobile before launch.

  • Content in three languages

We can write or edit the website text in English, Hindi or Assamese, and build separate language versions where your customers need them.

  • Selling beyond your own town

Many Assam businesses now sell beyond their own town, from tea gardens and Muga silk weavers to pickle makers, handloom and bamboo craft brands, and electronics and fashion retailers.

  • Delivery estimates that reflect reality

Deliveries to remote districts and hill areas, and during the monsoon, can take longer, and customers should know that before they order. Shipping is set up by zone.

  • Wherever you are in Assam

Businesses in Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar, Nagaon and other towns work with us through video meetings and shared review links, with a visit for photography when the site needs it. We also build websites for businesses in the other Northeast states and elsewhere in India.

What's included in a website build

Nine parts. Discovery comes first, so the page structure and the enquiry path are planned before anything is designed.

We start by understanding your customers, what you want visitors to do, and what your competitors' sites do well and badly. From that we plan the page structure, the content each page needs, and the enquiry or sales path through the site.

Mobile-first designs that match your brand, use real photographs of your business wherever possible, and put the important actions (call, WhatsApp, enquire, buy) where visitors expect them. You review designs before development starts.

We can write or edit the website text for you, in English, Hindi or Assamese, and build separate language versions where your customers need them. Clear, specific content helps both visitors and search engines.

Google measures real visitors' experience with three Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint (loading, good under 2.5 seconds), Interaction to Next Paint (responsiveness, good under 200 milliseconds) and Cumulative Layout Shift (visual stability, good under 0.1). We optimise images, fonts, scripts and hosting to meet these on mobile, and test before launch.

Every page launches with a unique title and meta description, one clear main heading, clean URLs, internal links, image alt text, an XML sitemap, and structured data that tells search engines about your business. We connect Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools so your site can be monitored from day one. Ongoing SEO is available through our SEO service.

Google Analytics 4 with events for form submissions, calls, WhatsApp clicks and purchases, plus the Meta pixel where you advertise on Facebook and Instagram. You'll know from the first week which pages bring enquiries.

SSL certificates, secure hosting configuration, strong admin passwords with two-factor authentication, regular backups and a plan for updates. For existing sites that may already be compromised, our website security audit finds and fixes the problems.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules notified in November 2025, forms that collect personal data need a clear notice explaining why it's collected. We add consent notices to enquiry and checkout forms and set up privacy policy and terms pages for your legal adviser to review.

Your domain, hosting account and website admin access are registered to your business, not to Growthbees. At launch we walk your team through updating pages, products and prices, and hand over the login details. If you need a mobile app alongside your website, see our app development service.

Online stores for Assam businesses

We build online stores, mainly on Shopify, that handle selling beyond your own town properly: from the product pages to payments, delivery and the disclosures Indian law requires.

  • Catalogue and product pages

Clear photographs, sizes, materials and the story behind the product, which matters for crafts and regional products such as Muga silk, a Geographical Indication-tagged product of Assam.

  • Payments and tax

Indian payment gateways, UPI and cards, plus cash on delivery where you offer it. Tax settings are configured with your accountant's guidance for GST.

  • Shipping and delivery

Set up by zone, with delivery estimates that reflect reality for remote districts, hill areas and the monsoon.

  • Shopping ads

Catalogue connections to Google Merchant Center and Meta, so products can appear in shopping ads.

E-commerce compliance in India

Online stores in India have specific disclosure duties.

RuleWhat it requiresWhat we build
Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020Information such as the total price with its breakdown, return, refund and exchange terms, delivery details, and the name and contact details of a grievance officer, displayed clearly on the platform. Complaints must be acknowledged promptly and resolved within the time the rules set. These fields and pages built into the store, for you to confirm with your legal adviser before launch.
Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) RulesProduct listings for packaged goods must show declarations such as the manufacturer's name and address, country of origin, net quantity and maximum retail price. An amendment notified in February 2026 requires stores selling imported products to offer a country-of-origin filter from 1 July 2026.Declaration fields on every product listing, and the country-of-origin filter where you sell imported products.

Hosting and maintenance

A website needs looking after once it's live. If you ever move to another provider, we help migrate your site and hand over everything, because the domain, hosting and site belong to you.

  • Managed hosting

Configured for speed and security, with SSL.

  • Backups

Regular backups and a tested way to restore them.

  • Updates

Updates to WordPress, themes and plugins, checked so they don't break the site.

  • Uptime monitoring

Problems investigated when the site goes down.

  • Content changes

New pages, price updates, staff changes and seasonal offers.

  • Periodic checks

Speed and security checks at regular intervals.

How a website project runs

Six stages. You approve the designs before development starts.

  1. Strategy

Discovery meeting, goals, audience and platform recommendation.

  2. Optimise

Page structure, content plan, wireframes and, for redesigns, the redirect map.

  3. Create

Design approval, content writing and development.

  4. Interact

Review rounds with your team, then training on updating the site.

  5. Analyse

Pre-launch testing for speed, mobile, forms, tracking and SEO basics, then launch and monitoring.

  6. Listen

Feedback from your team and customers shapes post-launch improvements.

How website projects are priced

How you are quoted

Every website is quoted in writing after a consultation. We don't publish a rate card.

What the quote lists

Pages or templates
Content writing and languages
Integrations and e-commerce set-up
Optional hosting and maintenance

Why there is no rate card

A five-page service website, a Shopify store with hundreds of products and a custom booking system are very different projects. An itemised quote lets you compare it line by line with other proposals.

Who owns the website

You do. Domain, hosting and admin access are registered to your business, not to Growthbees.

Frequently asked questions

Should our business website be built on WordPress or Shopify?

It depends on what the website needs to do. WordPress suits service businesses, schools, clinics and sites with lots of pages or articles. Shopify suits online stores that want checkout, payments, inventory and hosting handled by the platform. Custom code suits booking systems, portals and integrations. Growthbees recommends a platform after understanding your business.

Will we own our website, domain and hosting?

Yes. Growthbees registers your domain, hosting account and website admin access in your business's name and hands over the login details at launch. If you later move to another provider, your website and domain go with you.

Can you redesign our website without losing Google rankings?

Yes. We record which pages currently get search traffic, map every old URL to a new one with permanent 301 redirects, keep and improve content that ranks, submit the new sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, and monitor closely after launch to fix any problems.

Do you provide hosting and website maintenance?

Yes. Growthbees offers managed hosting with SSL, regular backups, software updates, uptime monitoring, content changes and periodic speed and security checks, so one team looks after both the website and the marketing around it.

What does an online store in India need to display legally?

Under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, online stores need clear information such as total price with its breakdown, return and refund terms, delivery details and grievance officer contact details. Packaged goods listings also need Legal Metrology declarations such as manufacturer details, country of origin, net quantity and MRP. We build these into the store and recommend confirming them with your legal adviser.

Can our website be in Assamese?

Yes. We write and build website content in English, Hindi and Assamese, and can create separate language versions of your site so customers can choose the language they're most comfortable with.

How fast will our new website be?

We build and test every site against Google's Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds and Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1 on mobile. Real-world speed also depends on your hosting and the images and features you add later, which our maintenance keeps in check.

How much does a website cost with Growthbees?

Every website is quoted in writing after a consultation. The price depends on the number of pages, content writing, languages, integrations, e-commerce needs and whether you want hosting and maintenance. We don't publish a standard rate card because projects vary so widely.
