Digital Marketing Across Assam: Areas We Serve

Growthbees serves businesses in all 35 districts of Assam from two offices: Chenikuthi in Guwahati and Gharpara Chuburi in Tezpur. Guwahati gives us quick access to Lower Assam and the roads to Meghalaya, while Tezpur puts us on the north bank of the Brahmaputra, within reach of Sonitpur, Biswanath, Darrang and Nagaon. We plan campaigns around each region's languages, festivals, flood seasons and local economies, and run them in Assamese, English, Hindi and, where it matters, Bengali. Clients anywhere in the state work with us through video calls, WhatsApp and visits to either office, with the same service and reporting everywhere.

Four differences

Why one plan doesn't fit all of Assam

Assam looks like a single market from outside. It isn't. A campaign that works in Guwahati can fall flat in Silchar, where most customers speak Bengali, or in Kokrajhar, where Bodo is widely spoken, or in a tea-garden town in Tinsukia, where the customers are estate staff paid on a different calendar from city salaried workers. The differences that change how we plan campaigns.

  • Language

    How it changes the plan

Assamese across most of the Brahmaputra Valley, Bengali in the Barak Valley and parts of Lower Assam, Bodo in the Bodoland Territorial Region, Karbi and Dimasa in the hill districts, and Hindi among traders and in many towns. Ads and posts in the customer's own language usually get more replies than English-only ones.

  • Festivals and seasons

    How it changes the plan

Rongali (Bohag) Bihu in April and Magh Bihu in January shape shopping across the valley, Durga Puja is especially large in the Barak Valley and the cities, and Bwisagu is celebrated in Bodoland. School admissions, harvests and the wedding season all move demand.

  • Floods

    How it changes the plan

The monsoon floods on the Brahmaputra and its tributaries affect the north bank and parts of Upper and Lower Assam in most years. We plan budgets around them and pause promotional ads where people are dealing with floods.

  • Distance

    How it changes the plan

In the larger districts, customers may travel an hour or more to a town. Location targeting, Google Business Profiles and WhatsApp enquiries matter more when a visit is a real trip.

Region by region

What works in each part of Assam

Each region has its own languages, economy and seasons. Scroll through them to see how we plan campaigns in each, and which of our offices serves it.

Schematic map, not to scale. Each town is its district headquarters; positions are approximate.

  1. 01Kamrup Metro · Kamrup

    Guwahati and Kamrup

Guwahati is the Northeast's largest commercial centre and our main office. Businesses in Kamrup Metropolitan and the surrounding Kamrup district compete with the most advertisers in the state, so campaigns here need sharper targeting and stronger local search presence than anywhere else. See our digital marketing agency in Guwahati page for how we work in the city.

    What works here

    • Sharper targeting
    • Strong local search
  2. 02Nalbari → Dhubri

    Lower Assam: Nalbari to Dhubri

West of Guwahati, towns such as Nalbari, Barpeta, Pathsala, Goalpara, Bongaigaon and Dhubri serve large rural catchments. Pathsala in Bajali is the home of Assam's mobile theatre groups, whose touring seasons draw crowds across the state. Bongaigaon has a refinery and a railway junction, and Dhubri sits where the Brahmaputra leaves India for Bangladesh.

What we see working here: Facebook and WhatsApp reach far more people than websites, and many customers still decide by visiting the shop or calling. Clear Google Business Profiles, click-to-call and click-to-WhatsApp ads, and posts in Assamese and, in the western districts, Bengali, usually do more than elaborate campaigns. Businesses here are served from our Guwahati office.

    What works here

    • Facebook & WhatsApp
    • Click-to-call ads
    • Assamese & Bengali posts
  3. 03Kokrajhar · Udalguri

    Bodoland Territorial Region

Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Tamulpur and Udalguri form the Bodoland Territorial Region, with its own council and administration. Bodo is widely spoken alongside Assamese, Bengali and other languages, and Bwisagu is a major festival season. Schools, colleges, healthcare providers, retailers and tourism businesses near Manas National Park are the kinds of organisations that benefit most from local search and social media here.

For campaigns in the region, we check language choices with you, since a mix of Bodo, Assamese and English often fits better than any one language. Ads on public programmes or government schemes need particular care with claims.

    What works here

    • Bodo, Assamese & English
    • Local search
    • Social media
  4. 04Tezpur → Dhemaji

The north bank: Sonitpur, Biswanath, Darrang, Lakhimpur and Dhemaji

This is home ground for our Tezpur office. Tezpur is the commercial centre for Sonitpur and much of the north bank, with a university, a large defence presence and road links to Arunachal Pradesh. Biswanath and the districts further east are tea and farming country, and Darrang's Mangaldai is a busy market town closer to Guwahati.

Clients near Tezpur include Delhi Public School Tezpur, NEMCARE's Tezpur hospital and Sonitpur Tractors, and we visit businesses in this belt in person. Further up the north bank, in North Lakhimpur and Dhemaji, the annual floods shape everything from road access to when people shop, and the Arunachal border means many customers cross the state line to buy. See our digital marketing agency in Tezpur page for more.

    What works here

    • In-person visits from Tezpur
    • Flood-aware timing
  5. 05Nagaon · Hojai · Morigaon

Central Assam: Nagaon, Hojai and Morigaon

Nagaon is one of Assam's most populous districts and a busy trading town on the road between Guwahati and Upper Assam. Hojai is known across India for its agarwood (agar) trade, and Morigaon is home to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. We work with businesses in Nagaon district, including Platinum Nagaon and G.D. Motors, a Mahindra dealership at Senchowa.

Central Assam customers often compare local shops and dealers with options in Guwahati, a few hours away. Showing prices, stock, offers and directions clearly on Google and Facebook helps local businesses keep those customers at home.

    What works here

    • Prices, stock & directions on Google
    • Facebook
  6. 06Golaghat → Tinsukia

    Upper Assam: Golaghat to Tinsukia

Upper Assam's economy rests on tea, oil and gas, and education. Golaghat is a gateway to Kaziranga National Park, whose hotels, resorts and tour operators compete for visitors from across India and abroad. Jorhat has the Tocklai tea research institute and Assam Agricultural University. Majuli is a river island district known for its satras. Sivasagar and Charaideo carry the heritage of the Ahom kingdom. Dibrugarh is a regional centre for healthcare and education, and Tinsukia includes Digboi and Duliajan, two of the oldest names in India's oil industry.

For tourism businesses, campaigns target travellers well before they arrive, often outside Assam, in English and Hindi. For hospitals, colleges and retailers in Dibrugarh and Jorhat, the audience is local and regional, and Assamese content performs strongly. Tea-garden communities are a large share of the population in several of these districts, which matters for language, timing and the channels we use.

    What works here

    • Travel ads outside Assam
    • Assamese content locally
  7. 07Diphu · Haflong

The hill districts: Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao

Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong are governed through the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, with Diphu as the main town. Dima Hasao, with its headquarters at Haflong, has its own autonomous council. Karbi and Dimasa are widely spoken, and the Karbi Youth Festival and Haflong's scenery draw visitors.

Audiences here are smaller and more spread out, so campaigns focus on a few towns and on tourism, education and healthcare. Internet access can be patchy in remote areas, so pages and ads are built to load on slow connections.

    What works here

    • A few towns at a time
    • Fast-loading pages
  8. 08Silchar · Sribhumi · Hailakandi

Barak Valley: Cachar, Sribhumi and Hailakandi

The Barak Valley in southern Assam is a distinct market. Bengali is the main language, Durga Puja is the year's biggest festival, and Silchar is a regional centre for education and healthcare, with road links to Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura. Many patients and students from those states travel to Silchar.

Campaigns for the Barak Valley are written in Bengali and English rather than Assamese, and hospitals, colleges and coaching centres in Silchar can target neighbouring states as well as the valley. Businesses here are served remotely from Guwahati, with in-person visits planned as needed.

    What works here

    • Bengali & English
    • Neighbouring-state targeting

When a district gets its own page

We publish a separate page for a town only when we have real work there to talk about, such as a named client, a campaign or specific local insight. Pages that just swap in a town's name don't help anyone, and Google treats them as spam. As our work in Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar and other towns grows, they'll get their own pages. Nagaon is next.

Plan ahead

Assam's year, month by month

Festivals, harvests, school admissions, the tourist season and the monsoon floods move demand across the state, and not all at once. We plan content and budgets around these moments, region by region.

  1. 01Mid-January

    Magh Bihu

The harvest festival is celebrated across the Brahmaputra Valley with feasts, so food, grocery and sweet shops have their busiest days of the year just before it.

    • Grocery & food
    • Sweet shops
    • Caterers
  2. 02February to March

    Board exams and admissions

Board exams usually run in February and March, and many schools open admissions for the new session around the same time. Schools and coaching institutes across the state plan their campaigns around the exam calendar.

    • Schools
    • Coaching centres
  3. 03Mid-April

    Rongali Bihu and Bwisagu

Rongali (Bohag) Bihu, the Assamese New Year, shapes shopping across the valley, and Bwisagu is celebrated across Bodoland at the same time of year. Clothing, gifts, electronics, restaurants and event businesses are busiest in the weeks before.

    • Clothing & gifts
    • Electronics
    • Event businesses
  4. 04June to September

    Monsoon floods

Floods on the Brahmaputra and its tributaries affect the north bank and parts of Upper and Lower Assam in most years. We plan budgets around them and pause promotional ads where people are dealing with floods.

    • All businesses
  5. 05September or October

    Durga Puja

Celebrated across the state and especially large in the Barak Valley and the cities. In Silchar it is the biggest festival of the year, and campaigns there are written in Bengali and English.

    • Clothing & jewellery
    • Food
    • Travel
  6. 06October or November

    Raas festival on Majuli

Raas performances at Majuli's satras around the full moon draw visitors to the river island, bringing business to homestays, ferries and travel operators in Majuli and Jorhat.

    • Homestays
    • Travel operators
  7. 07Roughly November to April

    Kaziranga season

The main visitor season at Kaziranga runs through the cooler months. Hotels, resorts and tour operators around Golaghat target travellers well before they arrive, often outside Assam, in English and Hindi.

    • Hotels & resorts
    • Tour operators
  8. 08November to February

    Wedding season

The main wedding months keep caterers, decorators, photographers, jewellers and banquet halls busy across the state. Families start comparing options months ahead, so campaigns work best when they start early.

    • Caterers & decorators
    • Photographers
    • Jewellers

Dates are approximate and move each year with the festival and academic calendars.

Frequently asked questions

Does Growthbees work with businesses outside Guwahati?

Yes. We serve businesses in all 35 districts of Assam from our offices in Guwahati and Tezpur. Most work happens over video calls and WhatsApp, with visits when a shoot, workshop or meeting needs it.

Which districts of Assam does Growthbees serve?

All 35. By region, they are Guwahati and Kamrup: Kamrup Metropolitan, Kamrup; Lower Assam: Nalbari, Barpeta, Bajali, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Dhubri, South Salmara-Mankachar; Bodoland Territorial Region: Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Tamulpur, Udalguri; North bank (central): Sonitpur, Biswanath, Darrang; North bank (upper): Lakhimpur, Dhemaji; Central Assam: Nagaon, Hojai, Morigaon; Upper Assam: Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia; Hill districts: Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao; Barak Valley: Cachar, Sribhumi (formerly Karimganj), Hailakandi. We serve them from our offices in Guwahati and Tezpur.

Do I need to visit your office to work with you?

No. Consultations, approvals and monthly reviews can all be done remotely. You're welcome to visit our office in Chenikuthi, Guwahati or Gharpara Chuburi, Tezpur, and clients near either office often do.

Can you run ads in Bengali for the Barak Valley?

Yes. For Silchar, Hailakandi and Sribhumi we usually write ads and posts in Bengali and English. Across the Brahmaputra Valley we use Assamese, English and Hindi, and we check language choices with you for Bodoland and the hill districts.

Can you target customers in just one district or town?

Yes. Google and Meta ads can be targeted to a district, a town or a radius around your business, and excluded from areas you don't serve. We set targeting based on where your customers actually come from.

Do your prices change depending on the district?

Our fees depend on the scope of work, not your location. Advertising costs vary with competition, so a click in Guwahati often costs more than the same click in a smaller town. We'll explain what to expect for your area.

Why doesn't my town have its own page on your website?

We only publish a town page when we have real work there to describe. Until then, this page covers every district, and our services work the same way wherever you are in Assam.

Do you serve businesses in other Northeast states?

Yes. We work with businesses across the Northeast and the rest of India, run from our Assam offices.
